I'm still alive everyone! [Update]

Fri Feb 13, 2009, 10:38 PM
Hey everyone! I promise you I haven't keeled over and turned to dust lol. I've been experiencing changes one after another in my life as of late, which killed a lot of things, including time on dA. I'm working right now, and I like my job and the other people that work there, but I think the stress of it may be a little too much for me. So I'm scanning for a new job while working my current one. I've put in job applications already, no calls back yet unfortunately. Who knows, things may get better at my current job and I may end up staying. Only time can tell. Working a few kinks out of my personal life, some of it is aggravating, but that's how life seems to go lol. Besides that, I've also had the chance to reconnect with a few people, one of them being Brandon Leffew. Brandon is a close friend of mine [we grew up with each other] and also a professional photographer. His photography ranges from weddings, children, landscapes, nature, animals, and models. Brandon also does graphic designs. You can find his works by clicking this button right there ---> :iconblphotography:. I highly suggest taking a look, he's very talented in what he does and I envy the bugger for it lol. He's been very kind in agreeing to help me begin my modeling portfolio when my finances can support it. My first work with him will be my new devID, which will be on Sunday. Which then takes me to my next topic... modeling.

Modeling is something I've always been highly interested in. Though the kind of modeling I enjoy viewing is alternative modeling. Alternative modeling ranges from fetish, pin-up, bizarre fashion, emotive, "goth/punk", and macabre. If anywhere I missed anything or made an error in definition, then by all means feel free to correct me. I'm an airhead at times. Back to my point though... I became hooked to modeling when I was ten. I was watching a modeling program on t.v. and back then my mentality was 'Oh that lady is very pretty.' But as I grew older, I began looking at modeling from an artistic/expressive point of view. Instead of 'Wow that's a gorgeous woman', my mind frame switched to 'Amazing hair, make-up, and outfit design plus setting concept.' Now whenever I look at a model, yes I take in her beauty, but first my mind analyzes the design of her make-up, how her hair was styled, what kind of clothes she's wearing, what designer made them, the setting where the shoot took place, and the purpose behind it concerning what kind of atmosphere/emotion they're trying to display. And as I've gotten older some more and more in touch with my own personality, my niche when it comes to modeling falls into the Alternative category based on my personality and interests. Modeling isn't an easy industry to get in to, and it can be very cruel, but it's something I'm willing to put forth the effort into trying. I've had various friends and even photographers say I should give it a try. So I am.

I'd like to take this last section and feature some people. The first being *miss-mosh. If you don't know who this amazing woman is, then shame on you. Mosh is one of my all time favorite professional alternative models. She has a natural beauty about her and she's damn talented in what she does. I admire her for her hard work. The second person I would like to mention is *girltripped. Known as Winterwolf, Winter is a professional model/photographer/editor while Wolf is a professional photographer. Their work is in alternative modeling as well. They are also expecting a baby boy soon, Winter is eight months along, and I wish them the very best =].

I guess that's it for now. I'll feature two more people in my next journal entry. I'm crossing my fingers for a good turn out on my devID and will have it uploaded as soon as it's ready.

Hello! Thanks for the fave on my Snow Leopard Girl! It was much appreciated! :)
No problem! My fursona is actually a snow leopard =D. Mind if I ask you how you went about making the costuming? I was thinking of doing a leotard for my leopard, but didn't know how to go about the spots to make them look correct.

Hey! You're that person from that time when that stuff happened! It all makes sense now! XD
Sure, I'll write it out and send you a note. :)
Oh, wow! I just read your note. Thank you so very much! I can't tell you how happy that made me. Your instructions are well thought out and were easy to understand ^_^. When I get the money (whenever that will be) and start working on my leopard outfit, I'll definitely send you a pic of the finished product =].
